Clumber Spaniels

The Clumber Spaniel is the heaviest of the spaniel breeds. Often used as a Gundog, flushing out his masters quarry. He is capable of vigorous, hard work in the field, particularly in areas of heavy cover. His energy, enthusiasm, staying power with a desire to please his master.

A well balanced, strong, and heavily boned dog, the Clumber Spaniel has a thoughtful expression and bags of personality and love. The Clumber Spaniel can be very determined and boisterous, especially as adolescents, and this requires firm, but gentle handling and rearing.

They are a very sociable dog and like company - as with so many breeds, left on their own, they can be prone to destructive tendencies. A Clumber will "play" with anything he finds including your TV remote control if he can...
