Daily hack check
Every day, the websites cru2.net hosts are checked for hacks.
The check is called Hopkins, the Hackfinder General: it hunts for hackers, not witches. The name borrows from Matthew Hopkins, the self-styled Witchfinder General of 17th-century England.
Once every day, at 03:00 Central European time, Hopkins checks each website for hacks and emails you a report: a short all-clear when all is well, or a plain-English alert when something needs your attention.
Why it exists
With AI, even an inexperienced attacker can pick apart a one-of-a-kind site and find a mistake in its custom code, so being small or unusual no longer keeps a website safe. If yours is hacked, Hopkins makes sure you hear about it.
Nothing to install, and your site is left as it is: Hopkins checks and reports, and never changes your website.
